Hello and Welcome
My name is Riyana Bassier and if you're reading this, you've already taken the first step towards becoming more informed about diabetes.
Diabetic In The Know was born from my own personal journey living with Type 1 Diabetes. Over the years, diabetes has challenged me in ways I never expected. I've experienced the highs and lows, the frustration of uncontrolled blood sugar levels, the exhaustion that comes with constantly managing diabetes and the reality of living with diabetic neuropathy.
💙 Why This Platform Exists
I wanted to create a place where diabetes information could be explained simply, honestly and without judgement. A place where people living with diabetes, their families and communities could learn together.
From Journals To Books
There came a point in my journey where I knew something had to change. With the support of a trusted endocrinologist and healthcare team, I began resetting my lifestyle, learning more about my condition and documenting everything I was learning.
Those journals became stories. Those stories became books. Those books became conversations. And those conversations became Diabetic In The Know.
📚 Education
Simple diabetes education anyone can understand.
💙 Awareness
Creating awareness through stories and real experiences.
🩸 Support
